We had another wonderfully busy weekend! Radiation is still going smoothly, and other than a little irritation and some slight discomfort, I feel great. I have been spending the past few weeks helping the H family plan their baby's first birthday party, which took place on Saturday. They lived next door to us until they moved to a bigger home last month (and my brother and SIL are now renting their old place!). They have been such great friends to us the past few months, so I was thrilled to have the chance to help them plan Lil Pat's party. He loves penguins, so that was the party theme. The past few weeks of radiation really flew by since I was so busy running around for the party. It forced me to jump right back into being active again after chemo!
We covered the entryway with blue wrapping paper and lined the sides with fake snow. Icicle Christmas lights and streamers were hung around the inside. I made the yarn wreath (love these...so simple) for the front door. There's also a balloon arch outside the screen door!
We used the same wrapping paper as a table runner for the dining room table. For the centerpiece, I glued starlight mints onto styrofoam cones.
Patrick's Mom said she wanted to transform the house into a big igloo...so I took her literally! I bought small moving boxes from Lowes and wrapped them all with white banner paper, glued on some snowflakes (not easy to find in August!), and sprayed them glitter spray.
For the cake table, the wrapping paper made another appearance as a the table runner. The banner was part of a printable package from The Trendy Butterfly.
The chalkboard print was done by Our Little Moments, and I found the perfect frame at Michael's!
The cake...oh, the cake! Amazing! I loved the little fondant penguins. The Yellow Rose Cakery made the cake and cookies.
The 1 collage was done by I've Got a Good Idea. They were so patient in creating the perfect finished product for me!
The highchair and month banners were both from Adorable Affair.
I found this cute inflatable play igloo on eBay! Nicky loved it!
The best part? We made it SNOW in South Florida...in the middle of August! The snow was provided by Sno-Wonder and the little penguin beach balls were from Discount Party Supplies.
He wasn't quite sure what to think of it...
